The Young Eagles progam was launched by the EAA, with the objective of providing introductory flights to youths aged 8 to 17. EAA members have flown over 1 million flights which was set before December 17, 2003, the centennial of powered flight. This worldwide initiative has been carried by more than 40,000 volunteers.

Chapter 266 continues to participate in this effort to spark curiosity in aviation. Every year, chapter members provide flights to young people, who would otherwise have little opportunity to experience the joy of flight.

Our Young Eagles co-ordinator is a different volunteer each year from the memebership of our EAA Chapter. For more information on the program is available from EAA main office and the Young Eagles website.

With the 2011 flying season quickly approaching, we hope to put on another event. If you are interested in taking your first flight, let us know.

Again we are looking for help from pilots willing to fly Young Eagles and also ground crew to help with logistics. Please call or email one of our Chapter Directors to discuss your participation.
