FOURTH
INTERNATIONAL PRECISION FLYING AND NAVIGATION EXERCISE OF LACHUTE
For the fourth year the Chapter along with Copa Flight
118 of Lachute held a "Precision Flying Exercise" out
of Lachute on October 1st. The weather conditions could not be better:
unlimited visibility and ceiling, no wind, and to make it easier
for the teams this year the course turning points were given.
Seven teams showed up (slightly disappointing) and
enjoyed themselves trying to locate along the course the 15 pictures
that rally veteran organizer Rad Skrivanic had selected, cropped,
turned upside down etc.. Well, in spite of all efforts to make things
easy, not too many pictures were located.
The last turning point was Chapter member Steve Szabad's
farm. As these lines are being written he is still on his front
porch waiting for airplanes to fly over...
Luckily all teams made it back safely to Lachute.
The landings were assessed for their "elegance"
by three impartial judges. Here things went better for (most) competitors.
As for the previous years DICOM heavily sponsored
the event (thanks to Stan Michaleski) as well as Kejy Aviation and
everybody received a prize!
Thank you to Chapter members that came to help: Eddy
Dumalo, Louis Beaulieu. Thanks to Kejy for hosting us and thanks
to Paulo... of Lachute who took part in the landings assessment.
Once again it was a fun day! See the results (click
here) and the pictures below.
