Steve Kulczycky built and
first flew his Q2 in the mid 1980's, and has been racking up time
ever since, now well over 1000 hours, with several engine changes
in the process. Steve lived in Montreal where he originally crafted
his Quickie, but later moved to the warmer climes on the west
coast. Now in Abbotsford, BC, he flies year round, while we back
here in Eastern Canada are in the "deep freeze".
Steve's latest endeavour was changing his 65 HP Revmaster (VW)
engine to a 6 cylinder, 120 HP Jabiru engine. This involved building
a new cowl to accommodate the longer engine as well as a new engine
mount. He reports a substantial improvement in cruise and we suspect
climb has likely been given a slight boost as well!
