Lecture Series: Frank Hofmann's lectures are for pilots and/or (potential) aircraft owners

Planned Events:

Field Day at Windover (PD8) Saturday, Sept 11 - Thanks to Rudy Pfister
St. Lazare Flying Club and EAA Chapter 266 members are invited to attend. Note: The rain day is on Sunday, Sept 12, rain or shine!
Field Day starts around 10:00 AM. Fly-in (grass runway) or drive. Pack a picnic and bring your whole family. A barbeque will be available plus free lunch for pilots and aircrew. Many interesting aircraft and aircraft projects are based there. Windover Airport Id is PD8, located near Highway 17, past Hawksbury, between l'Original and Alfred. Go past the glider field to Caledonia Spring Road and go south at the Blue Corner Restaurant. Pilots, please be aware of the balls on the adjacent power lines. Look for two hangars with orange roofs. Bring your own chairs but please no dogs. A great time will be had by all! Call Rudy at (450) 455-7078 for last minute details if the weather is doubtful.

Lecture Series by Frank Hofmann

A series of seminars is planned which are aimed at pilots and/or aircraft owners and potential owners. They are designed to de-mystify and to add depth to the training curriculum followed by student pilots and those generally interested in aviation matters.

  • The duration of each session is planned for 3 hours.
  • The location of the lectures will be at Laurentide Aviation's classroom and hangars.
  • The time will be evenings 7-10 pm or alternatively on weekends 10 am - 1pm
  • Starting date is December 11. Future dates to be published.
  • Cost is $25.00 / session

Planned seminars are:

  1. To Buy/own your own airplane. Choices of type, costs, operations.
  2. Owner Responsibilities regarding maintenance.
  3. Owner Performed Maintenance. CARs 625 App. A. Portions are hands-on.
  4. The Annual Inspection: Hands-on.
  5. Equipage. Modern Requirements and Equipment. ELT, ADS-B, Autopilot, Engine monitor, Ballistic Parachute, Transponder, Collision Avoidance.
  6. Airplane Design. The steps in designing an airplane.
  7. Making your own short and long-range weather forecasts for flying and holidays. Applied Meteorology.

Our Annual Air Rallys in Lachute

The EAA Young Eagles Web site hosts a live Webchat the third Wednesday of every month with various aviation celebrities. The Webchat lasts one hour and takes place between 7 and 8 p.m. Central Time.
